Abbott provides the users of a rheumatoid arthritis medication a free reminder service. The service was the first of its kind for a continuously used medication, and was based on real customer need.
The service sends a text message reminder to the users of Humira arthritis injection every two weeks. The users acknowledge the reminder with a text message. If no acknowledgement is received, a new reminder is sent the next day.
A text message reminder system is ideal for critical medications that are not administered on a regular basis.
